Baby food firsts

I am on a roll today with the blog postings.  I wanted to share some of the pictures we took of Jaycee trying baby food for the first time.  She is eating Butternut squash.  She really is liking her baby food, but it is not agreeing with her system, so for the time being we are cutting it way down.  We are going to continue to give her her baby cereal and mix it with some fruit, but she was spitting up so bad with the veggies, that we want to cut it way down since she still has such a bad reflux problem.  We took Jaycee for her 4 month check up on May 12, 2008.  She weighed 15 2.5 lbs. (85% percentile) and is 24 in. (50% percentile) long.  To compare this to Broderick, he was also 15 lbs. at 4 months and he was 25 1/2 in. long.  She is growing so fast.  She has gained 10 lbs. since birth and grown 6 inches.

Boys will be Boys...

April 27, 2008:
I really wanted to share these pictures because it is very rare that I see my son get dirty and I was so tickled when I found out he had painted his face and was playing army guys.  I was getting ready to leave out of town this day for work and I went outside to load up my car and saw his face, and he ran and hid behind the bushes.  I told him to come here for a minute and he hesitated because he thought he would be in trouble for sure.   Little did he know, I was thrilled inside because he was finally letting go and playing and just being a kid and getting dirty!

First major bike wreck.  Broderick has been riding his bike for 2 years without training wheels, and he had his first major wreck since he began riding.  It was right before I was getting ready to leave for our Bunko group, and he ran in the house screaming and holding his chin.  He had blood all over his face, so at first we really didn't know how serious his injuries were.  He ended up with a really swollen and bruised chin, scrapes on his nose, chin and wrists, a busted and swollen lip, and a really big bruise on his knee.  It has only been a week, but he has healed up suprisingly well.

I couldn't fit all of the pictures on that one posting, so here are some more.

Sears photos

Hey all!  I had some pictures taken of the kids at Sears two weeks ago.  I thought they turned out really good.  Jaycee is 4 months in them, and Broderick is 6.  The kids were so good for me, which made it easier on me, since we were there for over 2 hours.  Right before we got started, I told the photographer that Jaycee would smile really good for her, since she has been smiling and laughing so good for me.  Well, I definitely jinxed it because, all she wanted to do was look at her feet and the camera equipment.  Amazingly, the lady was able to get some good smiles out of her.  I will definitely be going back to Sears the rest of this year to get her pictures taken.  They did a good job and they were reasonable.  Talk to you all soon!
